Whirlpool Country outline notes that I had emailed to myself. This was when I had time during hour-long lunches as my old workplace. The date is March 10th, 2010. Blast from the past. So if anyone is curious where I was going with WPC...
Chapter 28
- Fire Lord left, Sakura, Kushina, Ino talking. Naruto took Hanabi to go train. Itachi comes up in conversation, Sasuke reappears and inquires.
- Sasuke comes to find Naruto, enraged that he did not mention anything about Itachi. Naruto becomes agitated, attacks Naruto, others attempt to intervene but Naruto starts pulling on Kyuubi and becomes conflicted, holding his head. Hanabi is scared, Sakura tries to calm her. Naruto flees. Kakashi tells Sasuke not to aggravate Naruto, he will contact Itachi if Sasuke can wait patiently.
- Kushina finds Naruto, they talk, he's concerned because Kyuubi's power and traits seem to be coming to him faster than they used to. Kushina mentions checking the seal next time they see Jiraiya. Chuunin comes to get Naruto, saying the Fire Lord's grandchildren have returned and are asking to see him.
- Tsunade gets a message from the Raikage, contemplates messages from the Mist, sends information to Suna and receives a message from Naruto as well about Whirlpool Country. Also mentions his plan, Tsunade asks Shizune for her opinion.
- Naruto arrives at the main entrance, Natsumi and Shuugo are being placed under his care for the forseeable future. It's a paid mission, so he can't turn it down, Natsumi is paying for training for herself and her brother.
Ch 29
- Itachi recieves a message from Naruto, tells Kisame that the time has come, and he hands over his Akatsuki ring for safekeeping to Kisame.
- Tshuchikage reading over reports about troop movements, deciding to remain neutral for the time being. Reads message from Raikage and snorts about how the man is a child and has no power.
- Blue Haired Kunoichi reports to Raikage. He's curious, sends the kunoichi to be messenger along with his brother's team.
- Temari arrives at second outpost to talk to Shikamaru. He's on the roof of a building, staring at the clouds. They're up in the mountains, so it's a little chilly, but the clouds are fairly close.
- Messengers return to the Mizukage with news of Whirlpool's apparent return. She wants to go investigate immediately, much to everyone's surprise.
Ch 30
- Naruto gives Sasuke Itachi's response. Sasuke leaves immediately, leaving Taka in Whirlpool. Sakura, Kushina, Kiba, Hinata, Juugo all decide to go follow, just in case. They want to prevent the brothers from killing each other. Suigetsu doesn't really care, and Karin thinks she'd just get in the way since Kushina is going.
- Naruto retreats to his office when they leave, and reads the message from the Kazekage about his plan. He agrees to help, but will only be able to convince his council to spare one team for now.
- Tobi and Pain talking, Naruto's location has been pinpointed, it seems Whirlpool Country has also been restored. Konan asks about attacking Whirlpool to get Naruto, but Tobi says no, it would just unite the world against them too soon. There are still more hands to be dealt before they go after the nine-tails.
- Keiji wanders around Whirlpool proper with some merchants from various parts of Fire Country who are looking to purchase plots of land to set up shops, apartment buildings.
Ch 31
- Scene from (country next to waterfall), Lightning troops break through a border blockade and are pushing through, their numbers are too great. Scene of carnage, shinobi are more skilled but are completely overwhelmed by the numbers. Messages dispatched to Iwa and Konoha, asking for help.
- Anko nagging Kurenai about being bored, nothing to do. They talk about rumors that they've been hearing about Whirlpool, Naruto, and his mother, and the return of the Uzumaki clan.
- Sasuke and Itachi fight, near the end. Kushina and Sakura intervene just in time, knocking them both out to take them to Whirlpool. Aloe-vera considers interfering, but he's not a combat type and there are too many shinobi for him to handle. He realizes Madara won't be pleased about this turn of events.
- end chapter with Jiraiya meeting up with Pain.
Ch 32
- Naruto training Hanabi, Natsumi. Natsumi is giving him a hard time, and causing Hanabi to blush. Shuugo is going through exercises, obviously trying to ignore them.
- First force from Sound arrives, Sasame is with group. Two teams were given, they ask for instructions, bring news about Lightning occupying northern Rice Field, but not moving south towards Sound Village.
Yeah. Three years ago. This was me writing my new outline as I was going. If I had all this, why didn't I write it? Fairy Tail came along, and I was a new writer, and WPC was getting all blown out of proportion, straying from my original vision...
As a tip to new or prospective writers - don't do that! Write an outline in the very beginning and stick with it. Change as little as possible if you can help it. Otherwise... well, you're a better writer than I.
Needless to say it took a while but I learned from my mistakes.
